Peaky Blinders, une série d'époque réussie | a great period piece

Je me demandais ce que j’allai bien pouvoir regarder sur Netflix et j’ai vu la photo promotionnelle de Peaky Blinders avec Cillian Murphy qui était vraiment flippant dans la trilogie Batman Christian Bale. Alors je me suis demandé comment il pourrait être dans un rôle principal. Et je peux dire que je n’ai pas été déçue. « En 1919, à Birmingham, (…) Surnommés les "Peaky Blinders" par rapport à leur utilisation de lames de rasoir cachées dans leurs casquettes, ils tirent principalement leur argent de paris et de vol. Tommy Shelby, le plus dangereux de tous, va devoir faire face à l'arrivée de Campbell, un impitoyable chef de la police qui a pour mission de nettoyer la ville. » J’ai vu qu’il y avait eu effectivement un gang au nom de Peaky Blinders à Birmingham durant cette période. La série est donc partiellement basée sur des faits réels en ce qui concerne le contexte. Je pense que les personnages eux sont fictifs, si je ne me trompe pas. J’ai fait une petite recherche rapide car en regardant la première saison je me demandais à quel point la série s’inspirait de l’histoire. Enfin, j’ai personnellement été captivée par l’ambiance de la série. Les personnages étaient assez intéressants. Les acteurs étaient géniaux, particulièrement Cillian Murphy bien sûr, mais même les acteurs les plus secondaires ont fait leur boulot. Certaines critiques disent que c’était du déjà vu, rien de neuf là-dedans. J’imagine que c’est la seule chose qu’ils peuvent dire quand ils veulent critiquer dans le mauvais sens  et ne peuvent rien trouver de vraiment négatif. Pour moi, c’est une série d’époque réussie et je suis toute de suite devenue fan et vais sans doute continuer à regarder.

I was wondering what to watch on Netflix when I saw the Peaky Blinders promo picture with Cillian Murphy who really creeped me out as Scarecrow in the Batman Christian Bale trilogy. So I was wondering what he would be like in a leading role. And boy, I was not disappointed. “A gangster family epic set in 1919 Birmingham, Peaky Blinders centres on a gang who sew razor blades in the peaks of their caps, and their fierce boss Tommy Shelby, who means to move up in the world.” http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01fj945 I saw that there was actually a gang called Peaky Blinders in Birmingham at this period of time. So it is partially based on true facts but only in the context of it. I think, if I am not mistaken, that the characters are indeed fictional. I was just wondering how much of it was based in history while watching the first season so I did a very quick research to answer my question. Anyway, I personally was very captivated by the feel of the show. The characters were interesting enough. The actors were awesome; especially Cillian Murphy of course but even the most secondary actors did their jobs. Some reviews said it was not anything new. Well I guess it is the only thing you can say when you want to say something bad about it and cannot find anything truly wrong about it. For me, it is a great period piece of very good television and I definitely became a fan of the show and will continue to watch.
